Trypsin (Bovine)

Trypsin is a proteolytic enzymethatmainly cleaves proteins and peptides on the carboxyl side of lysine or arginine residues.Trypsin can be purified from porcine or bovine pancreases.Commercial trypsin preparations are widely used in food processing.

Storage: Store in a dry place,in the tightly closed original container, protected from light.

Description

Production process

Linzyme Ultrapure Trypsin is purified by affinity chromatography to remove trace contamination.OurUltrapure Trypsin is suitable for Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) in accordance with the European Union good manufacturing practice (GMP), meeting the requirements of both the United States Pharmacopoeia (USP), and the European Pharmacopoeia (EP).

Product usage

LinzymeTrypsinfrom porcine pancreasis currently used by food manufacturersin the production of protein-hydrolyzed infant formula, infant Foods for Special Medical Purposes (FSMP),follow-on formula and other young child (whey) protein hydrolyzed productsand etc.Trypsin is added to whey protein in the hydrolysis steps.

Trypsin has a temperature optimum at around 37°C and a pH optimum between pH 7.0 and 9.0. The activity of the enzyme during hydrolysis can be controlled by controlling temperature and pH in the target hydrolysis time frame. After hydrolysis is completed, the enzyme can be autolyzed and inactivated easily by applying specific heat treatments. The addition and use of Food Enzyme Trypsin in the final products is intended for nutritional and physiological effects rather than an organolepticeffect to improve the acceptance of finished product.

EFSA Certification

Our Trypsinas a food enzyme is approved by the European Food Safety Agency (EFSA).Please find attached EFSA Journal published on 12 January 2022 (doi: 10.2903/j.efsa.2022.7008). TheEFSA Panel on Food Contact Materials, Enzymes and Processing Aidsstated that “Based on the origin of the food enzyme from an edible part of pigs, the data provided by the applicant, the evaluation of clinical studies based on pancreatic enzymes and the estimated dietary exposure, the Panel concluded that the trypsin from porcine pancreas does not give rise to safety concerns under the intended conditions of use”. Based on the approval from the EFSA safety evaluations, Linzyme food enzyme trypsin will be placed on the EU food enzyme list.
